#2. Meet the CEO

# I live in Jeju, I believe in nature,

and I'm genuinely enjoying my 50s.

Honestly? I was pretty lazy.

You know the type — disciplined since their twenties,

great skin, consistent routines. As a skincare CEO,

that's the story I'm supposed to tell.

But that was never me. Work came first.

Everything else, including my own skin, came last.

I was so exhausted at night that

I'd skip washing my face rather than risk

waking myself up doing it.

#The thing that changed my skin?

A good cleanser.

What turned things around wasn't a 10-step routine.

It was the product I'd spent the most time developing

and testing on my own skin:

our Jeju Botanical pH Balancing Cleanser.

After using it consistently, my skin barrier actually held.

A real, lasting layer of hydration — one I hadn't had before.

It's never too late to start.

Find the right product, a rhythm you can stick to,

and something that moves your body and mind.

Start there. That's enough.

#Life in Jeju in my 50s

— yoga, tea, and trail hikes

II used to think yoga was for naturally flexible,

graceful people. I am neither.

But I wanted better posture, so I went back.

Now I focus on my own breath, my own pace —

and that shift has opened something up in me.

That's one of the real gifts of being in my 50s.

I haven't quite gotten to meditation.

Instead, I drink tea. Time that doesn't rush anywhere.

I also think a lot about how modern life

pulls our energy upward — into our heads, our faces —

and how that tension shows up in our skin.

I try to counter it through deep belly breathing,

drawing my energy back down toward the center.

Grounding in a way that's hard to explain until you feel it.

Here in Korea, avoiding the sun is practically a cultural virtue.

And yet I go hiking every single week.

Jeju has oreum — small dormant volcanic rises scattered

across the island.

The climb is gentle, but the view from the top takes

in the entire island, and the wind comes through

so fully it feels like it's clearing your head from the inside.

A routine only possible because I live here.

I do wear a generous layer of sunscreen before I go, though.

#Why I use the word "well-aging"

I'm in my 50s. I'm not trying to look younger than I am

— but I'm not leaning into age for the sake of it either.

I just want to live well, and age a little more slowly.

Naturally. On my own terms.  That's what well-aging means.

And it's exactly what I want The Pure Lotus to stand for.

Skin can keep renewing itself.

It can recover from damage. It can grow stronger because of it.

"Every morning, you can open again toward the light.

Just like the lotus."
